Who's the "me" behind On screen me?

Okay, you’ve got me. These aren’t readers’ actual frequently asked questions, but they very well could be. In any case, I think they explain the classic who, what, where, when, and why of my blog.

Who are you?

Did I mention that I'm also a robust camper?
I am an almost-thirty year old woman with a husband, two cats, some fish, and a passion for writing. In addition to writing, I enjoy baking (and eating what I make, especially cake balls - my newest obsession), reading, decorating our house, and spending time with friends and family.

I’m not especially athletic, but I do enjoy the occasional bike ride, and believe it or not, I’m not a bad skier! (I always mention this because I think it does make me sound athletic).

I prioritize napping, beach vacations, and eating out. Oh, I also work full time, spend too much time cleaning, and go to school in pursuit of my MS in communications.

What are you doing on Blogger?

As a class requirement for my graduate degree, I had to establish a blog. So here it is.

I’m actually really grateful that I had an assignment to motivate me to start a blog. I’ve been hearing the blog buzz for a while now, but I’ve been either too lazy, too scared, or too busy eating cake balls to actually trying my hand at blogging.

Where do you get your inspiration for posts?

I watch a lot of TV and I think too much. Why not combine the two?

When do you plan on updating your blog?

When inspiration strikes!

I know that I’ll have something to write about when I find myself watching a show or a movie with my head cocked slightly to the side - it's a clear indication that the wheels are turning in my mind (my first memory of doing this is when I stalled my bedtime to watch a few minutes of E.R. with my parents when I was a kid).

Many blog experts recommend keeping content fresh with at least weekly posts, so I’ll do my best.

Why do you think anyone would be interested in what you have to say?

This has always bothered me about blogs - just like therapy, they’re very self-indulgent.

I don’t flatter myself to think that people, in general, are interested in what I have to say. But trying to get their attention with my clever, memorable prose (I did say that blogs are self-indulgent) is a fun challenge.

And cake ball eating aside, I need a new hobby.

  2. This is soooo beside the point, but what's the code at the bottom of the post - 9WY0MSVFDSRA? And now that I've asked, you can't remove it, or subsequent commenters will be confused. ;) Hope you continue your blog even when your class is over! I've had one, deleted it after 5 posts, started another, never posted... maybe someday. for now I will focus on commenting on yours.

  3. Thanks for the comment! The code was for a blog website to "crawl" my blog to prove that I wrote it :-)
I have a Google Reader subscription now, so if you do get around to blogging again, I'll follow!

  5. I second the enjoyment of reading about Katie's athleticism! Experienced first hand this weekend on an attempted trip to Mt. Vernon motivated by DC cupcakes! Keep up the personal touch with the blog-makes you very relatable.
